Using scan your space

OKO iOS Version 1.8.0 Build 5.42.0.0 running CSP 4.18.0


To use RoomScan, you need to use an iOS device with LiDAR functionality running iOS 17.6 or later.

This article will guide you through the steps of using the Apple RoomScan integration, and how to scan a room using the OKO app.

Instructions

Scan your space 

When creating a new space, you will have the option to “Scan Your Space”. This allows you to create a digital model of the environment you are currently in.

Click on “Scan Your Space” to start the scanning process. A pop-up will appear with instructions on how to scan your environment

Read the instructions and click “Continue” to proceed to scanning.

During the scanning process, gently move your device from side-to-side as you slowly move around the room to capture all the important features or landmarks. 


While you are scanning, you will see outlines around features such as walls, windows and doors.

Once you are satisfied with your scan, click on the “Stop” button to end scanning. 


You will see a model of your scan on screen.

Before creating your space, you can add an anchor to your physical space to align your room scan model in AR. Select “Anchor Space”, and follow the instructions provided. 


You will see a pink capsule floating in the AR.

Slowly move around the capsule.

The capsule will gradually change color as you move around it. Keep moving until it turns green.

Once it is finished, tap “Create your Space”. 


Follow the next steps to calibrate your device.

Move your device in the figure 8 a few times to align the space to your location.

The model of your room will appear in AR mode. It will be anchored in the same location as the room in the real world.

You also have the option to generate the model of your space without it being anchored to the same location in the real world. To skip the anchoring process described above, simply tap “Create your Space”.

Once again, move your device in a “Figure 8” motion to align the space to your location.

Once calibrated, your room scan model will be visible in AR mode but not anchored in the real world location.

And if you switch to the 3D space, you will see your scan as well.
