OKO 2025.08

Release Summary

Release Date

21st May

Build Versions

  • Web client version = 2.54.1

  • iOS mobile client version = Version 1.25.1 Build 5.112.0.0

  • Unreal plugin = 2.3.3

Unity

What’s new

  • Room Scanning: It just keeps getting better! We’ve drastically reduced the likelihood of room scans hanging on upload and scans won’t reset the GPS location of a geo-located space.

  • Space Hub UI: We get it, icons are ambiguous. We’ve de-mystified our home screen with named tabs, and we’ve also made searching more intuitive, just type and enter!

Bug fixes

  • We fixed issues with reflections and reflection probes, which were breaking for creators after uploading new assets.

  • Certain mesh values like shadow-casting, metallic-ness, and roughness were not being applied, but they’re back now!

Web

What’s new

  • What’s better than being able to download one version of the Unreal plugin? Being able to download two! Users can choose to download either the latest version of the Unreal Plugin, or the previously compatible version via the downloads page on OKO Web.

  • Control the maximum distance content can be viewed from in OKO Web, thanks to support for clipping planes.

  • Time for a glow up - custom materials support amending the emissive intensity to values above 1.

Bug fixes

  • We’ve tinkered with the code to ensure that video streams play and restart smoothly.

  • We’ve resolved an issue causing assets to appear in their lowest LOD quality until a user exits and re-enters the space.

Unreal

What’s new

  • Introducing custom materials! The OKO Unreal plugin now joins the ranks of OKO Web and the iOS app in being able to apply and view custom materials to objects in space.

    • Note: There’s a known issue preventing users from saving videos and images as textures when creating/editing materials. Stay tuned for the next release, as a fix is in the works!

  • Looking to spin up your own connected spaces application using the OKO Unreal plugin? Thanks to some source code spring cleaning, now you can!

Bug fixes

  • We’ve fought valiantly against a number of nasty crashes, so you can perform the following actions without fear:

    • Entering and exiting spaces in quick succession

    • Terminate applications created using Unreal Blueprints that use OKOGameMode

    • Create packaged builds of your own Unreal applications
