OKO 2024.01

Date: 17th January 2024

Client versions: Unity Version 1.7.0 Build 5.40.1.0, Web RC 2.22.0, Unreal build number 114422

Here's What's New In This Release for Unreal OKO Plugin

  • The editor extensions no longer conflict with ‘Playing In Editor’; when logged in and within a space. Once the ‘Play’ button is selected in the editor, then the editor extensions exit the current space, log out and remain logged out until a request has been made to log in.

Major Bugs We’ve Fixed…

  • Site models are no longer failing to load in UEEE.

  • Rapidly switching between spaces on OKO UEEE no longer results in a crash.

  • Trying to save a level while in a space no longer causes Unreal Editor to crash.

  • 2D content is now visible in the UE Client.

  • MP4 Video is no longer failing to play as expected in MCS Dev or MCS Staging

  • Pressing Control +Z (Undo) no longer breaks the GLB asset animation.

  • Unreal Editor Extension Office Site Model now matches Web.

Here's What's New In This Release for OKO Web

  • We’ve made Improvements to the user flow for confirming an account on OKO.

  • Improvements related to reflection probes have been made.

  • We’ve updated the messaging around pricing plans.

Account Verification

Improvements have been made to the user flow for confirming your account on OKO. If a user attempts to log in without having confirmed your account you are encouraged to check their inbox for your verification email. In addition to that pop-up, users can now also request for their confirmation email to be resent. [Video Link]

Reflection Probes

Some small improvements related to reflection probes are coming your way!
Including:

  • Reflections have been added to the statue in the retail space.

  • Missing reflections on the court in the retail space have now been fixed.

  • Reflection captures now ignore gamma/tone-mapping.

  • Dark lighting observed in the dynamic objects in the office space has been fixed by boosting the intensity of reflection.

Pricing Tiers

Following the release of Pricing Tiers, at the end of last year, we have made some improvements to messaging based on a user's current pricing plan. The callout text surrounding upgrades to your plan should differ from OKO Basic to OKO Pro and now this information has been added to the pricing table data.

Miscellaneous

  • Users can change their mic and camera settings after accessing a space via a URL.

  • The gizmo selector tool has been moved out of 3D space and onto the 2D UI toolbar at the top center of the screen [Video Link].

  • When opening the map to set the geo-location for a space, the initial location is now set to the local user’s location. In instances where the local user’s location is not available, then it will default to ‘Null island’. However, the map will be zoomed out far enough to be able to view other geographical features on the map.

Major Bugs We’ve Fixed…

  • The formatting of the asset selector menu in the component properties panel was too cramped, we’ve fixed that.

  • There is now a character limit when adding text to an External Link component so the text doesn’t overrun.

  • There is no longer a black screen crash in Web when clicking a custom component of a fiducial marker image in the properties panel.

  • Model LOD generation no longer fails when an included texture is a PNG with an ICC profile chunk.

  • Now a user’s email is automatically entered when signing up for a new account from an invitation.

  • We’ve fixed it so that objects no longer become distorted when rotating a component transform.

  • The 'Save' button is no longer missing on the profile settings page.

  • The reset password fields no longer appear too small on mobile web.

Here's What's New In This Release For Unity iOS

App Clip

The accompanying App Clip now loads models using their relative transforms within a space. This means scaling and rotating the assets in the OKO space will translate to the model within the App Clip! The App Clip will now also render objects without image anchors immediately upon startup.

Pricing Tiers

Users can now see how many people are currently in a space (excluding the owner). Users on the Basic Tier will also be locked out of full spaces.

Users can now see their space’s current and maximum storage capacity. Users will be prevented from uploading assets if doing so would exceed the space’s capacity. This is currently limited to 10GB.

Miscellaneous

  • We updated the resolving of Fiducial Markers to continuously update AR Session orientations. This fixed the issue where a Fiducial Marker’s position would not be accurate over time.

  • We also fixed an issue where a Fiducial Marker that's also marked as invisible in AR would fail to relocalize.

  • Fixed an issue where the space name within the space details panel would sometimes be incorrectly truncated.

  • Resolved an issue where creating a space via the “Scan My Space“ button would not take into account user-submitted coordinates.

  • Fixed an issue where space storage capacity restrictions would not appear correctly in some cases.

  • The issue where animation and visibility properties were not correctly applied when set from other clients has been fixed.

  • We updated branded avatars with new models.

Major Bugs We’ve Fixed…

  • Unity iOS - Error no longer occurs when uploading an asset to a new space.

  • Creating a Geolocated Space via "Scan My Space" no longer removes geolocation.

  • The script attached to the light is now working on iOS.

  • IMU Camera setting is now respected after using “Scan My Space” to create a space.
